Working for NEST
Nexus Education Schools Trust are proud of our schools and the commitment they have to staff and pupils alike. We have exceptional leadership teams who work hard to ensure colleagues are supported and provided with development opportunities.
Please see below for some of the benefits to working in NEST schools.
Annual Leave
Staff receive a generous holiday allowance with additional paid leave entitlement for public holidays. An additional concessionary day is given to cover the Christmas period. Staff are given an increase in the number of days after 5 and 10 years of service. NEST recognises continuous service from other Local Authorities.
Continuing Professional Development
NEST are committed to supporting the professional development of our staff. There are a number of training opportunities throughout the year and all staff received annual Safeguarding training. Our staff have access to The National College which has an extensive programme of online courses covering Leadership, Governance, Health & Safety, Mental Health & Wellbeing, Safeguarding, SEND, Subject-Specific, Teaching & Learning and Online Safety.
Discounted Benefits
Staff have the opportunity to join up to our Cycle to Work scheme and can also be part of the Childcare Voucher scheme.
Staff can join CSSC Sports & Leisure which is a membership organisation for civil servant workers and public sector workers that includes savings and discounts on a number of places including days out to beautiful historic and cultural sites, the Cinema and gym membership.
Pensions Scheme
All NEST employees have the opportunity to join a highly competitive pension scheme to which the Trust pays a generous employer contribution. Teachers have the opportunity to join the Teachers’ Pension Scheme and all support staff can join the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS).
Well-Being and Mental Health
Staff well-being and mental health are at the heart of all our schools. All schools have a Mental Health & Wellbeing Lead who is there to support the staff as well as the pupils. All staff have access to Education Support, a charity supporting teacher and education staff wellbeing.
