NEST SEND Conference
Back
We were delighted to launch our first SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) Conference on Wednesday 6 November 2024.
The day was designed to foster collaboration and innovation in supporting pupils with diverse needs. We had inspirational speakers who focussed on areas such as Developmental Language Disorder (DLD), effective de-escalation strategies, trauma informed practice and the evolving landscape of inclusion in education. Attendees explored the challenges and strategies for supporting pupils with DLD, providing practical insights for staff and families. Sessions on de-escalation techniques offered practical tools to help staff manage challenging situations and support emotional regulation in the classroom.
Additionally, we examined the current trends and best practices in inclusion, helping schools create more responsive, inclusive environments where every pupil can thrive. With contributions from our speakers and time for leaders to network and share good practice, the conference was an inspiring and informative event, equipping attendees with the knowledge and resources to make a difference in the lives of our pupils with SEND.
